From September 1st all forecourts replaced the current 'E5' petrol with 'E10' fuel, which contains more renewable ethanol. This change only applies to standard (95 octane) petrol, and doesn't affect diesels. The change comes as part of the government's plans to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel-powered cars by 2030, with E10 petrol predicted to reduce transport carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 750,000 tonnes a year; the equivalent of removing 350,000 cars from the roads. At our sites E10 has replaced standard petrol, though Ultimate will remain E5. It is important to note that if a car was made prior to 2011 it may not be compatible with E10, but customers can still fill up with Ultimate Fuel. Customers can check
